(Out)Growing pains

Growing up really puts a lot of hitherto confusing stuff into perspective. Stuff such as how "some" infuriatingly dumb guys never outgrow their schoolboy crushes. And how "some" girls are so friggin' embarrassed by the shockingly pathetic taste they once had in guys (namely, the aforementioned "some"). And how "other" people are stunned by how they cud possibly have been such dreadfully poor judges of character.

Gratefully, I belong to the last group of people.

Phew! *wipes cold sweat off brow* As F. frequently and rightly says, "Der aaye, durust aaye!"

Amen to that.

P. S. If only I cud find myself a time machine, get into it, travel back in time and explain to my irritatingly naive fourteen year old self, the sheer futility of it all. But there's no point really. She (being me) wont even try to see it. Not for another decade anyway.

I agree with T. He was a thorough idiot. And you're not in the second category? Or you don't want to put yourself in there with lesser mortals? You know what, I actually liked the 14 yr old version of you better. She wasn't such a cold cynic inspite of her charming naivete. You remain a poor judge of people if you thought she was irritating.

Of course, you liked the 14 yr old version better. Its becoz she liked u back, isnt it?

Yeah, that and more. Now go sleep, honey.

I agree-growing up is like a light bulb going on ur head-'AAAAAAAh! So thats the way it was supposed to be!'. Totally agree with der aaye durust aaye and bitching about him. recently took part in an all girls sleepover (actually a club meeting of Women Who Love Men Who Don't Care About Them Much and I Hate you But I Love You)where the words which flung around most were-Nalayak,Kameena,Muchchhad etc etc etc. it was big fun!

Dee, from my experience, girls' sleepovers invariably involve one of these two types of monologues..long rambles (swear words included) about how the guy was all wrong and how did I ever fall for him, I must be a jerk magnet etc.

or Ooh my boyfriend is the best, he bought me a pink teddy, he is the cutest, I am so lucky, we study together etc.

The first kind is by far funner! :D

read this one too late, but i was a sociopath in medschool and too often wondered WHY did the somewhat better chicks of my class bothered to entertain the looserkind SOOO much.. why in hell were they so LAME!
in the long run, i met one of the better people.. and she told me.. its cuz they thought we guys had some kinda superiority complex, lmao.
and over time.. once the regional wars subsided (mumbai vs rest of maharastra, hostelites vs localites etc) i realised later that quiet a few of those guys were really great at heart. some of the best friendships that happened started wit a single step :)
